Dear Literacy Friends,
Thank you for your past support to Literacy Volunteers! We have been coordinating
the annual Leprechaun Leap since 2004! That is 16 years of brave frigid leapers, warm. warm hearted spectators and generous sponsors.
This has been a year like no other! Large groups and events have been put on hold, distancing has become the new norm, yet people who need literacy support continue to come and see us.
Although we will not be able to host the “normal” Leprechaun Leap this year, we still need your support.
We are co-hosting Shamrocks on the Green with the Irish Heritage Society of Milford. Would you consider purchasing a “Shamrock” to decorate which will support the literacy needs in our community?
Sponsorship information is enclosed. Shamrocks on the Green links are also available on our website: www.lvsct.org
DID YOU KNOW?
Literacy Volunteers of Southern CT supports one-to-one and group tutoring that focuses on speaking and writing skills for English as a Second Language students. LVSCT also provides reading, writing, math, conversation groups, writers’ workshops and GED tutoring. Last year we tutored over 100 students. We also have “Books for Babies” at Milford Pediatrics; and “Books for Birthdays” in Milford, Stratford and West Haven; weekly pre-school reading programs and bi-annual book giveaways to children in story hour. In 2020, 90 volunteers donated over 5,000 hours to the mission of literacy in our community!
If you are interested and need more information, please contact us at 203-878-4800 or www.lvsct.org. Hoping to see you on the shore of Walnut Beach in 2022, but until then, let’s cover the Green in Shamrocks!!
P.S. Sponsorship information needs to be received ASAP for proper signage and marketing.
See you in 2022!
