Take the Leap for Literacy in 2025
WHEN?
Date: Saturday, March 29, 2025
Time: 10:30am sign in / 11:30am We Leap!
Location: Walnut Beach, Milford
WHAT?
Join the many other brave, warm-hearted souls who will “take the leap” for Literacy Volunteers! “Leapers” from around the area will collect donations from family members, co-workers and friends, and run, jump or dive into the icy cold waters at Walnut Beach.
REGISTER!
- Registration fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students.
- Register HERE.
- Online registration ends at 5:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Walk-ins are welcome, but advanced registration online is much appreciated.
- Ask family, friends, co-workers, teachers, neighbors, and favorite businesses to support LVSCT by pledging a donation for your Leap!

WE NEED SPECTATORS!
There’s always plenty of room for spectators, so come down to the beach and cheer on the leapers! It is the fastest event ever! Watch the competitions between local high school students and teachers, civic groups, restaurants, local businesses, canines and many more who will make the “leap” into Long Island Sound!
YES, WE HAVE AWARDS!
Awards may include: Best Costume, First in the Water, Last out of the Water, Youngest Leaper . . . and maybe others!
Be creative, be enthusiastic, and be adventurous!
PROCEEDS!
All proceeds collected by the “Leapers” will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut.
PREPARING TO TAKE THE LEAP!
- Leapers who register on-site the day of the Leap will need to fill out a Leap Release and Waiver upon arrival. (The release and waiver are included as part of the online registration process.)
